Quality Assurance
Our quality assurance falls into three categories.
First and most importantly, quality assurance begins with our commitment to academic excellence. Working under the guidance of the faculty involved, the first step of this commitment is the accurate conversion of the traditionally delivered coursework into an online experience that achieves the expectations and desired learning outcomes. This is augmented by our experience in research-based practices that support faculty with linking assessment techniques, providing updates and adding refreshers after each course is taught. Our success in this area has resulted in more than 98 percent faculty satisfaction rate.
The second component of quality assurance is assisting faculty with the inclusion of practical techniques for incorporating effective online instruction. In a dynamic field, best practices are continuously being discovered, and we want our partners to have the benefit of these developments. Through grant awards or direct funding to partner institutions, we also encourage our university partners to conduct research on effective online instruction.
The third area of quality assurance relates to the learning experience of each student. This is achieved through substantial investments in new technologies and the technology support provided to partner institutions. Considering that online learning is growing at more than 14 times the rate of all other forms of instructional delivery, we devote considerable effort in tracking the global development of online learning technologies. If the current technology trends continue that are placing all mankind’s cumulative knowledge at the fingertips of virtually every citizen, the online learning experience in a few years will be wondrous and almost free. We are also following closely the proliferation of OpenSource CourseWare from top institutions as a possible supplement to the courseware produced and delivered by our partners.
