Foreign Campuses

A core competency of Academic Partnerships Group is establishing and operating international campuses. Currently, the group successfully manages 19 campuses and over 540 learning centers outside the United States. AP has developed a joint venture model for opening and operating foreign campuses for partner universities.

A joint venture with Academic Partnerships is structured to be free of capital risk for the university and should be viewed as a beachhead in a new international market that will produce a positive revenue stream usually in its second full year of operations. Typically, these campuses are supported by learning centers around the country or region.

Foreign campuses can offer several advantages to leading American universities including a new and sustainable revenue stream, student and professor exchange programs, and a window into rapidly developing foreign markets.  They are also recruiting opportunities for international talent.

AP services include all funding, identifying locations, negotiating of leases, recruiting staff, complying with local higher education regulations, translating courses and managing day-to-day operations. AP helps structure the legal side of the business and handles the repatriation of foreign capital. AP also works with international audit firms to provide annual audits and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
