Oregon – June 2, 2021 – Southern Oregon University (SOU) today announced the expansion of its online graduate education portfolio supported by Academic Partnerships (AP). With a focus on adult learners, 44% of SOU’s admitted students are age 25 or over. In support of these students, many of whom are working teachers, the new offerings from SOU will expand the AP-supported online graduate education portfolio from 3 to 10 programs.
SOU’s online graduate degree programs, planned to launch August 2021, are designed specifically to help working adults balance multiple responsibilities and bring their real-life experience to the classroom. The newly added programs include:
- Master of Education (MSED) with a concentration in Adult Education, ESL (English as a Second Language)
- MSED with a concentration in Leadership in Higher Education
- MSED with a concentration in Public Health Education
- MSED with a concentration in Curriculum & Instruction
- MSED with a concentration in Reading & Literacy
- MSED with a concentration in Reading & Literacy Endorsement
Importantly, the programs are affordable, with tuition of approximately $16,600 for a graduate degree that can be completed in as few as 16 months.

SOU offers more than 90 bachelor’s degree, graduate and certificate programs in its seven academic divisions. The university’s Division of Education, Health and Leadership offers a traditional, on-campus master of science in education program with various concentrations, in addition to the 10 options provided through Academic Partnerships.
